Cosmin Costinaş engages in a conversation with Tom Holert and Pablo Lafuente, who take a closer look at a number of phenomena that have gained importance in artistic practice in the last decades. These range from an increasing role of art and curatorship in the processes of knowledge production to the mushrooming and often fetishized practices of informal research to be found in the art field, often involving an interdisciplinary approach. Holert and Lafuente analyze the connection between this normalization of cross-disciplinarity and the growing dominance of the methodologies of cultural studies and their diffusion in the artistic realm on the background of the development of a neoliberal culture of fluidity and of the destabilization of categories and disciplines.
