Cultural theorist Boris Buden’s important work Zone of Transition: On the End of Postcommunism on the state of the world twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, this book argues that the future (as a horizon for yet-to-be-realized radical change) as been subsumed by the ‘developments’ in the wake of the collapse of the Communist regimes (a collapse which itself marked the end of a certain project of modernity, Buden notes).
