Part of the Global Art and the Museum research project, initiated by Peter Weibel at ZKM, which attempts to chart the so-called ‘global’ turn in the contemporary art world, ushered in by a shift from’ bi-polar political conflict to new ideas of cosmopolitanism or multiculturalism after 1989.’ The focus of this volume is to explore the impact of art’s globalization on institutions, art audiences, and the art market.
