Publication stemming from a conference dedicated to analyzing the life and work of two key figures of Polish modern and contemporary art and its conceptual tradition Henryk Stazewski (1894–1988) and Edward Krasinski (1925–2004) held in Warsaw (5-6.10.2007) on the occasion of the inauguration of the public opening of Krasinski’s studio under the name ‘Avant-garde Institute’. See in particular texts by Alexander Alberro, Blake Stimson, Luiza Nader, and Sabine Breitwieser, who consider Krasinski’s practice and influence both within Poland and in the larger international contemporary art scene, where Krasinski found prominence later in his life.
