      1. Silvia Federici is a feminist activist, writer, and teacher. She is Professor Emerita at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She co-founded the International Feminist Collective (which launched the Wages for Housework campaign in 1972), and the Committee for Academic Freedom in Africa (1990s). She has written extensively on feminist theory, women’s history, and the commons, and is author of Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation (2004).
