        Achille Mbembe

      2. Achille Mbembe is a philosopher and political scientist. He is Research Professor in History and Politics at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He has written extensively on African history and politics. Publications include: Mandela’s Mortality (with Sarah Nuttall, 2014); Critique de la raison nègre (2013); and At the centre of the knot (2012). Mbembe lives and works in Johannesburg.
